The True Light
Psalms 119:130
The entrance of thy words giveth light; it (light) giveth understanding
unto the simple.
John 3:16-21
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth
not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the
name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation,
that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather
than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that
doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest
his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh
to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are
wrought in God.
You cannot plead ignorance to the difference between light
and darkness!! You can’t see in darkness, but you can see
in the light!!
1 John 2:8
Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true
in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the
true light now shineth. 9 He that saith he is in the
light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even
until now. 10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light,
and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. 11 But he that
hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness,
and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness
hath blinded his eyes.
Question, What is the true light? Will you believe me,
If I tell you, will you take responsibility for that knowledge?
Will you believe me? If God and I tell you, will you then believe?
DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT THE QUESTION WAS?
Open your Bibles to the Gospel of John chapter 1: 1-8
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing
made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was
the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness
comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name
was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the
Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not
that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that
cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was
made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own,
and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him,
to them gave he powerb to become the sons of God, even to them
that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor
of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld
his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full
of grace and truth.
1 John 1:5-7
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare
unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness
at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk
in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in
the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship
one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth
us from all sin.
John 12:44-46,
Jesus cried and said, "He that believeth on me, believeth
not on me, but on him that sent me. And he that seeth me seeth
him that sent me. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever
believeth on me should not abide in darkness."
John 9:5 "As long as I am in the world,
I am the light of the world."
Eph. 3:14-21
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory,
to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being
rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with
all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that
ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now unto him
that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask
or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21 Unto him
be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world
without end. Amen.
WHY SHOULD GOD GRANT YOU SUCH A MARVELOUS THING?
1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation,
a peculiarb people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him
who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
1 Thess. 6:4-5
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake
you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and
the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Phil. 2;14-15
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15 That ye may
be blameless and harmlessb, the sons of God, without rebuke, in
the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine
as lights in the world;
The same Jesus who said of Himself, “I am the light of
the world”. In John 9:5 Said also of you,
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set
on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and
put it under a bushelb, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light
unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before
men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father
which is in heaven.” in
Matt.5:14-16
Isaiah 58:8-12
8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health
shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before
thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward. 9 Then shalt
thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall
say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke,
the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; 10 And if
thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted
soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness
be as the noonday: 11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually,
and satisfy thy soul in droughte, and make fat thy bones: and
thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water,
whose waters fail not. 12 And they that shall be of thee shall
build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations
of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of
the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
