The Christian Walk
Way back in the beginning we see God walking with Adam and Eve
in the cool of the day. Even though they quickly broke the bonds
of relationship, it was and is still His desire to have this harmonious
fellowship with us. As sure as the sin that we are born in separated
us from God there is provision made for that relationship between
God and man to be restored!
God sent His son Jesus and tells us that if we believe in Him
we will escape the death we so deserve and receive everlasting
life! (See John 3:16)
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his
Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
Now if we truly believe Him we will not just say, “I believe”,
but we will do the things that He says. Our Christian walk is
a life long endeavor to search out what God is saying and expressing
our belief by following His directions through this maze we call
life. We must show the strength and fortitude God gave us as we
continue to fight against the temptations of the Godless against
our own selfish desires. (See 2 Cor. 12:9, Phil. 4:13)
The Word of God tells us in Acts 2:42 that the early church “…
continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship,
and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” We too should
walk this way. Taking the time together in studying God’s
word, communicating His ways, remembering Him, and praying.
The eternal glory that God has for us is so much greater than
any temporal suffering we must endure in this present life!
God bless you as you make every effort to walk this Christian
walk!!
