A New Day is Coming
-by: Elder Bert V.
Down through the ages Lambs have been slain, not just a few,
but MILLIONS of them, from the time Abel took a sheep out of the
flock, and made an offering to God. Down to the land of Goshen,
where for the first time a “Lamb” was slain for every
household that the children of Abraham lived in. On that first
“Passover” evening THOUSANDS of “lambs”
were slain. But all of them and all of the MILLIONS that were
slain for HUNDREDS of “Passovers” since, not all the
MILLIONS of lambs that passed from sinner’s hands to the
hands of a priest to be offered for their sins, ever brought even
one sinner closer to God, or gave him or her life. Not until that
one that John the Baptist had singled out as, “The Lamb
of God that taketh away the sins of the world”, bruised,
battered, beaten, but not broken, dragged his heavy wooden altar,
up the jagged slopes of Golgotha’s hill, and offered himself
for all the sins of mankind, did anyone move one inch nearer to
God.
But O Happy Day, as the blood flowed out of his precious body,
the veil of separation, (that veil that hid the “Shechinah,
or special presence of God”) began to move apart and a way
was made for fallen man to come nigh unto God. And with the final
rending of his flesh, “a new and living way was made into
the very presence of God”. Having therefore, brethren, boldness
to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and
living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil,
that is to say, his flesh; Heb. 1:19-20
Hebrews 10
1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not
the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices
which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto
perfect. 2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered?
Because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more
conscience of sins. 3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance
again made of sins every year. 4 For it is not possible that the
blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. 5 Wherefore
when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering
thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: 6 In burnt
offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
Vs. 14. For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that
are sanctified.
Hey somebody ought to be shouting HALLEUYAH by now!!!!
Our great hope is not that we will get better and better, but
that we will be like HIM !
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us,
that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world
knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we
the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:
but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him;
for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this
hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 1John 3:1-2-3
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord
Jesus, and love unto all the saints, 16 Cease not to give thanks
for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17 That the God
of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you
the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may
know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the
glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding
greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the
working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when
he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand
in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power,
and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only
in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath
put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over
all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fullness of
him that filleth all in all. Eph.1:15-23
How many times have you heard someone say, Oh, isn’t he
cute, he has his father’s nose, And look at that chin, and
those eyes, he looks just like his father. But you see him not
his father. But only Jesus could say, he that hath seen me hath
seen the Father John 14:9. He also said, I and the Father are
one. John 10:30
Let’s look at the context, we are in “John 14:4”
And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith
unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we
know the way?
“Good old Thomas”
Elder Karl was preaching last Sunday and mentioned how much we
owe to Thomas. Because of his doubt we are shown another proof
of the resurrection, and the blessing of believing without seeing.
(put your finger into my hand etc.) ANYWAY THIS TIME THOMAS SAID,
“WE DON’T KNOW WHERE YOUR GOING, SO HOW CAN WE KNOW
THE WAY”?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me,
ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know
him, and have seen him. John 14:6-7
That’s where Philip lends us a hand!! This is a great bunch
of guys Jesus picked.
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth
us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, have I been so long time with you,
and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath
seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father
in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself:
but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe
me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe
me for the very works’ sake. 12 Verily, verily, I say unto
you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do
also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto
my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will
I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall
ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
This is all in John 14. The word Father is used twelve times in
these nine verses, each of them could take us on a journey that
would take our hearts soaring.
I love to teach on
How “God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself”
2Cor 6:19
How “Jesus is the express image of his person” “the
image of the invisible God”
Heb. 1:3 Col. 1:15
How “In Him dwelleth all of the fullness of the Godhead
bodily” Col. 2:9
· But I want to set all that aside for now and talk to
you about a Father’s
· love for his Son!!
· And a Son’s love for his Father. And the Father’s
Love for a lost and dying world.
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye
in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my
love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and
abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that
my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. John
15:9-11
Out the great love that the Son had for the Father and His vision
was birthed this
great prayer for all mankind!!
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with
me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast
given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have
known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 26 And
I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that
the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in
them. John 17:24-26
JOHN 14:28-31
Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto
you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto
the Father: for my Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have
told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass,
ye might believe. 30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you:
for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. 31
But that the world may know that “I love the Father”;
and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let
us go hence.
Do you really want Jesus to love you, the way the father loved
Him?
The Father didn’t put the Son up in a nice Motel, with soft
sheets, good meals, and TV, on easy street!!
Ps 51 “He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows,
and acquainted with grief: Surely he hath borne our griefs, and
carried our sorrows: He was stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
he was wounded, , he was bruised, he was chastised, (His back
was laid open with stripes), the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity
of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, he is brought
as a lamb to the slaughter,. He was taken from prison and from
judgment: he was cut off out of the land of the living: 9 And
he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death;
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief:”
JESUS wasn’t out to please the religious leaders of his
day, he wasn’t interested in being politically correct.
Jesus didn’t need to have the Father baby him, he was content
to know the Father loved him.
You see, Jesus learned to be a faithful SON, so he could be an
awesome LORD and SAVIOR.!!! AND than go back to being an awesome
FATHER!! “I’ll have to explain that another time”
The son Christ Jesus had to have such perfected trust and love
for the Father to give honor and Obedience to his will, from Gethsemany
all the way through Calvary, or He could never have paid the ransom
for our sinful souls.
HE PAID THE PRICE, the extreme price. Only in the heart of God
was the world worth the price he paid. For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Did God’s Redemption plan work? Oh Yes. He satisfied God’s
penalty for sin.
Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief:
when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see
his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD
shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his
soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous
servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Isa.
53:10-11
So we come back to the”Lamb of God” and it is Him
who is our only Hope. So Christ was once offered to bear the sins
of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second
time without sin unto salvation. Heb.9:28
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for
ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting
till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering
he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified. Heb. 10:12-14
Do you want to go on the most exciting, fulfilling, purposeful,
and Spirit led journey possible?
3 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let
him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
LUKE 9:23
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest
by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath
consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Heb.10:19-20
That is right into the presence of the King of Kings. Like Esther
of old let the Bride of Christ say, “and so will I go in
unto the king, which is not according to the law: (but thank God
it is under grace) and if I perish, I perish. Esther 4:16
God isn’t out to hurt your pride, you know? He’s out
to kill it.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above,
where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection
on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead,
and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is
our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in
glory.Col.3: 1-4
I pray these words will help you to see more clearly the love,
grace, and mercy that our great God has poured out so richly toward
you. I also hope you will pray with me that the sacrifice of Jesus
Christ on the cross of Calvary will accomplish His great purpose
that he intended. -Amen.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the
death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved
by his life. Romans 5:10
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the
day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted
time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) 2Cor. 6:2
